  • Product Description

Blue Diamond Shrimp are selectively bred from Chocolate shrimp, originated from Taiwan. They have very deep dark blue tissue with dark blue/black glossy shell.

CARING - Blue Diamond Shrimp are easy to care for as they can adapt to a wide range of water parameters, they can be kept in either soft or hard water. We recommend keeping them in hard water with a gH of at least 8 for them to show their best color. Aquarium should be fully cycled before introducing any shrimp. There should be no trace of Ammonia and Nitrite, Nitrate under 25ppm. Weekly water change of 10-20% is suggested to keep the nitrate low. Feed only 2-3 times a week as overfeeding will cause shrimp death.

BREEDING - Breeding Blue Diamond Shrimp is fairly easy, if there is a male and female in the aquarium, they will breed. Female shrimp will carry the eggs for about 30 days until they are hatched to miniature size of their parents. It is important to have a well established aquarium in order for the shrimplets to survive as they can only consume biofilms until they grow older. We recommend to only keep one strain of Neocaridina shrimp per tank because of crossbreeding, which will revert the offsprings back to wild color.

    1. great shrimp

Great shrimp, came on time happy and healthy with one extra shrimp. The only reason there getting 4 instead of 5 is because of there color/grading. 3 of the shrimp look like blue diamond but the rest are quite lighter in color, a lot closer to blue dreams. on 5th Aug 2019

    2. shrimp

They are all alive so that’s great I’ll be ordering more I just wish the order was a bit faster but that’s ok on 11th May 2019

    4. They were ok

I've been in and out of keeping shrimp for some time now. I wanted to keep some neos because they're not as finicky as Cardinas. Overall the shrimp look alright and packaging was nice. They were very mixed in terms of grading for this particular shrimp. It was almost as though I was getting culls. I have also never before received full grown shrimp from retailers before. It's pretty known and common to ship juvinile shrimp as they are more adaptable. However, I received mostly mature shrimp. I wouldn't say this is bad, but its not the best. on 7th Apr 2018

    5. first week and they're still kicking

These shrimp arrived in good condition to me I live in Tampa so my water parameters are exactly the same. I ordered the 17th of February got it the 24th and they're still kicking =). The material is packed in looks like dryer lint and it is very messy if only there was foam pellets or just newspaper would have been fine instead of opening the box and having lent fly everywhere on 28th Feb 2018

    6. multiple shrimp orders

I recently ordered 5 diamond blue shrimp and they were fine. The only problem I had was the packing. I have had several orders and was very pleased with the quality and arrival time. This order came prompt and alive as always. The only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 star rating is the packing this time. The order was wrapped in pink attic insulation. I had to make sure I washed all of the insulation off of the bags before I could place the order into the aquarium. Overall this is a great place to order shrimp and I would recommend Soshrimp to others. on 17th Oct 2015
